Materials

Notes

  • Beginning chain does count as a stitch
  • I used Lion Brand Mandala and a 6mm crochet hook but you can use any yarn/hook you like, using a different weight yarn or crochet hook will change the yardage needed to make a decent sized scarf

Abbreviations (US Terms)

  • slst – Slip Stitch
  • ch – Chain
  • dc – Double Crochet
  • puff – Puff Stitch

Special Stitches

Puff Stitch (puff)

  1. Yarn over, insert hook into stitch and draw through stitch (3 loops on hook)
  2. Yarn over, insert hook into same the same stitch and draw through stitch (5 loops on hook)
  3. Repeat step 2 two more times ending with 9 loops on your hook
  4. Yarn over and pull through all loops on hook
  5. Chain 1

Sizing

This pattern was written using one skein of Lion Brand Mandala (590 yards) which I found to be just enough for a good sized triangle scarf, but it can be easily made larger:

  • The basic row of the pattern is repeated, you can continue to repeat the row if you would like larger scarf or you can omit rows if you would like a smaller scarf.

Pattern

It is important to note that puff stitches are closed with a chain 1, the chain stitches listed in the pattern are in ADDITION to this chain 1.
