Super Basic Skinny Can Cozy

SKILL LEVEL: ADVANCED BEGINNER

Materials

  • 5.5 mm Hook
  • 30 yards Worsted Weight 100% Cotton Yarn
  • Removable Stitch Marker

Notes

  • Beginning ch does not count as a stitch
  • I used Bernat Handicrafter to make the cozy pictured but any worsted weight cotton yarn will work 

Abbreviations (US Terms)

  • mr – Magic Ring
  • slst – Slip Stitch
  • ch – Chain
  • sc – Single Crochet
  • hdc – Half Double Crochet

Sizing

This pattern was designed to fit a skinny can such as RedBull

Pattern

Begin with a mr, ch 1

ROW 1

  • hdc 10 into mr
  • slst to first hdc (10 stitches)

ROW 2

  • ch 1
  • 2 hdc in each stitch around
  • slst to beginning hdc (20 stitches)

ROW 3

  • ch 1
  • hdc in each stitch around

Do not join, the body of the cozy will be made in continuous rounds, use a removable stitch marker to keep track of your row count.

ROW 4 – 14

  • hdc in each stitch around

At the end of row 15, slst to the first hdc in the row to join

ROW 15 – 16

  • ch 1
  • sc in each stitch around
  • slst to beginning sc

Fasten off and weave in ends.
