SKILL LEVEL: ADVANCED BEGINNER

Materials

  • Caron Big Cake (or approximately 600 yards of the yarn of your choice)
  • 7.00 mm Crochet Hook
  • Optional: Pom Poms or tassels

Notes

  • Beginning chain in each row does count as a stitch.
  • Stitch count will increase by 6 in each row
  • I used Caron Big Cakes to write this pattern with a 7.00 mm hook, but you can use any yarn or hook you like. This pattern will work nicely with any weight yarn. When making shawls I like to go up a full hook size from size recommend by the yarn maker, I do this to make a light and airy shawl that drapes nicely. This is my personal preference, you’re free to use whichever hook you like.

Abbreviations (US Terms)

  • sl st – Slip Stitch
  • ch – Chain
  • dc – Double Crochet
  • dcblo – Double Crochet in Back Loop Only

sizing

This pattern was written using one Caron Big Cake which happened to be a great amount of yarn for a good sized shawl or triangle scarf. You can continue on with as many repeats as you like to to make your shawl larger.
