- slst – Slipstitch

DIMENSIONS
My finished cloth measures approximately 7 inches by 7 inches
It can easily be adjusted:
- To adjust the width of the cloth add or omit stitches from your starting chain
- To adjust the height add or omit any number of the repeated rows
PATTERN
ch 24
ROW 1
- Pick up 1 loop through the second ch from the hook and each ch to end
- Work standard return pass
ROW 2 – 20
- tss in each stitch until 1 stitch remains
- 1 edge stitch in last stitch
- Work standard return pass
BIND OFF
Bind off, do not fasten off, ch 1.
BORDER
Turn your cloth clockwise and sc evenly down the side, place 2 sc in the corner stitch. Continue to sc around the remaining 3 sides, placing 2 sc in each corner, slst to beginning sc. Fasten off and weave in ends!
POTHOLDER:
To make a potholder, make two cloths following the instructions above.
Using a 5.5 mm crochet hook:
Place the two cloths right sides facing out, join your yarn anywhere on the outside edge and sc through both layers around. Placing 2 sc in each corner.
To make a loop, in one corner, sc, ch 20 tightly, sc and then continue to sc around, slst to beginning sc, fasten off and weave in ends.
