YARN

Weight 3 – 400 yards

To make the bag pictured I used Bernat Softee Cotton which is a cotton/acrylic blend. Any weight 3 cotton or cotton blend yarn could easily be substituted.

My finished bag measures approximately 13 inches tall and 12 inches wide.

Begin with Magic Ring, ch 2

ROW 1

  • dc 10 into Magic Ring
  • slst to beginning dc (10 dc)

ROW 2

  • ch 2
  • (dc, fpdc) in each stitch around
  • slst to beginning dc (20 stitches)

ROW 3

  • ch 2 
  • *dc in next stitch, (dc, fpdc) in next stitch*
  • Repeat from * to * around
  • slst to beginning dc (30 stitches)

ROW 4

  • ch 2
  • *dc in the next 2 stitches, (dc, fpdc) in next stitch*
  • Repeat from * to * around
  • slst to beginning dc (40 stitches)

ROW 5

  • ch 2
  • *dc in the next 3 stitches, (dc, fpdc) in next stitch*
  • Repeat from * to * around
  • slst to beginning dc (50 stitches)

  • Ch 100, skip the next 30 stitches
  • sc in the next 20 stitches
  • Ch 100, skip the next 30 stitches
  • sc in the next 10 stitches
  • slst to beginning sc (40 sc, 200 ch)

ROW 39 – 40

  • ch 1 (does not count as a stitch), sc in the same stitch
  • sc in each stitch around

FINISHING

Fasten off and weave in ends!
