- Thick Hair Elastic
- Yarn Needle
- Scissors
NOTES
- Beginning chain DOES NOT count as a stitch
- Using a good quality elastic is important, a cheap elastic may snap when stretched, this will cause stitches to unravel and the hat to be completely unusable.
- This beanie is worked flat and seamed together at the end

- hdc – Half Double Crochet
- blo – Back Loop Only
SIZING
This pattern is designed to fit an average sized teen or womanโs head (21 -23 inch circumference).
It can easily be adjusted:
- To adjust the height of the beanie add or omit stitches from your starting chain
- To adjust the width add or omit any number of the repeated rows
PATTERN
Attach yarn to your hair elastic with a slst, ch 40
ROW 1
- hdc in the 2nd ch from your hook and each stitch across
- When you reach the end of row, slst around the hair elastic
- ch 1, turn (39 hdc)
ROW 2
- hdc in the blo of each stitch across
- ch 1, turn (39 hdc)
ROW 3
- hdc in the blo of each stitch across
- When you reach the end of row, slst around the hair elastic
- ch 1, turn (39 hdc)
ROW 4
- hdc in the blo of each stitch across
- ch 1, turn (39 hdc)
ROW 5 – 42
Repeat Row 3 and 4
When you have completed row 42, fasten off leaving a long tail.
FINISHING
Using the long tail and your yarn needle, seam both edges together. Weave in ends, fold up the brim and enjoy!
