Helix Dishcloth

SKILL LEVEL: ADVANCED BEGINNER

Materials

Notes

  • Beginning chain does not count as a stitch
  • Slip stitches are used in this pattern, you must be able to stitch into the slip stitch in the following row, do not tighten your slip stitches too tightly, this will make it extremely difficult to complete the pattern.
  • I used Bernat Handicrafter to write this pattern but any worsted weight 100% cotton will work nicely.

Abbreviations (US Terms)

  • slst – Slip Stitch

NOTE: The border stitches are not done in the back loop only, complete stitches through both loops where applicable

  • Sc evenly along top of last row and all 3 remaining edges of your dishcloth, placing 2 sc in each corner stitch
  • slst to beginning sc, ch 1 (approximately 90 stitches)

ROW 22

  • sc in each stitch around, placing 2 sc in each corner stitch
  • slst to beginning sc (approximately 94 stitches)

ROW 23

  • slst around and join to beginning slst

This creates a nice finished edge! Fasten off and weave in ends.

Note that due to the nature of this pattern, your dishcloth will not be perfectly square.
