Granny’s Cup Cozy

SKILL LEVEL: ADVANCED BEGINNER

Materials

  • Bernat Maker Home Dec or any weight 5 yarn of your choice 
  • 5.00 mm Crochet Hook

Notes

  • Beginning chain may or may not count as a stitch.
  • I used Bernat Maker Home Dec when writing this pattern but any weight 5 yarn could easily be substituted.

Abbreviations (US Terms)

  • ch – Chain
  • slst – Slipstitch
  • sc – Single Crochet
  • dc – Double Crochet

Pattern

Ch 24, slip stitch into beginning ch to form a ring being careful not to twist your chain.

ROW 1 

  • Ch 1 (does not count as a stitch)
  • Sc in each stitch around
  • Slst to beginning sc 

ROW 2 

  • Ch 2 (counts as beginning dc)
  • 2 dc in first stitch, skip next 2 stitches
  • *3 dc in next stitch, skip next 2 stitches*
  • Repeat from * to * around
  • Slst to beginning dc then across the next 2 stitches and into the space between clusters

*If you are changing colours, do not slip stitch across to the space, slst into the beginning dc and fasten off, join your new colour in the next space. Continue to do this for each row that you are changing colours.

ROW 3 – 5

*Stitches in these rows will be placed in the spaces between the 3 dc clusters, all other stitches will be ignored.

  • Ch 2 (counts as beginning dc)
  • 2 dc in first space
  • *3 dc in next space*
  • Repeat from * to * around
  • Slst to beginning dc then across the next 2 stitches and into the space between clusters

ROW 6

  • Ch 2 (counts as beginning dc)
  • 2 dc in first space
  • *3 dc in next space*
  • Repeat from * to * around
  • Slst to beginning dc  

ROW 7

  • Ch 1 (does not count as a stitch) 
  • Sc in each stitch around
  • Slst to beginning sc 

Fasten off and weave in ends.
