Materials
- 1000 Yards Fingering weight yarn
- 4 mm Hook
Notes
- Beginning chain may or may not count as a stitch
- I used a Cotton King Twirl from Hobbii to complete the blanket pictured, you could substitute with a Scheepjes Whirl or It’s a Wrap from Red Heart Yarns
Abbreviations (US Terms)
- slst – Slip Stitch
- ch – Chain
- sc – Single Crochet
- dc – Double Crochet
Dimensions
- 36 inches by 36 inches
- I blocked the blanket pictured which increased the size, blocking is not necessary but not blocking will change the dimensions of your blanket.
- You can adjust the size of the blanket by adding or removing repeated rows.
Tension
I kept my tension fairly loose for this blanket, the end result is a light and airy blanket.
Pattern
Ch 4, slst to beginning ch to form a ring
ROW 1
- ch 2 (counts as beginning dc)
- 2 dc into ring, ch 2
- (3 dc into ring, ch 2) 3 times
- slst to top of beginning ch 2 (12 dc, 4 ch 2 spaces)
*All stitches will now be worked into ch spaces unless noted.
ROW 2
- slst over next 2 stitches and into the first space
- In the first ch space, ch 2 (counts as beginning dc), 2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc, ch 1
- In each remaining ch space, 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc, ch 1
- slst to top of beginning ch 2 (24 dc, 4 ch 2 spaces, 4 ch 1 spaces)
ROW 3
- slst over next 2 stitches and into the first space
- In the first ch space, ch 2 (counts as beginning dc), 2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc, ch 1
- *In next ch space 3 dc, ch 1
- In next ch space, 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc, ch 1*
- Repeat from * to * 2 times
- In the last ch space 3 dc, ch 1
- slst to top of beginning ch 2 (36 dc, 4 ch 2 spaces, 8 ch 1 spaces)
ROW 4
- slst over next 2 stitches and into the first space
- In the first ch space, ch 2 (counts as beginning dc), 2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc, ch 1
- *3 dc, ch 1 in each ch space until you reach the corner ch space
- In corner ch space, 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc, ch 1*
- Repeat from * to * 2 times
- 3 dc, ch 1 in each ch space until you reach the end of the row
- slst to top of beginning ch 2
ROW 5 – 39
Repeat Row 4
BORDER
You will be working into each stitch and ch space for the border.
- ch 1 (does not count as a stitch)
- sc in first stitch and each stitch around, placing 1 sc in each ch 1 space and 3 sc in the corner ch 2 spaces.
- Fasten off and weave in ends!
