YARN
The Scarf pictured was made using a single cake of Lion Brand Mandala but you can use any yarn you like.
Yardage required depends on how large you would like your scarf/shawl to be.
HOOK
I used a 5.5 mm hook to make the scarf pictured but you can use any hook you like.
ADDITIONAL SUPPLIES
- Yarn Needle
- Scissors
NOTES
- Beginning chain DOES count as a stitch
ABBREVIATIONS (US TERMS)
- slst – Slipstitch
- ch – Chain
- dc – Double Crochet
SIZING
Sizing can easily be customized, you can continue on with the repeated row for as long as you like.
PATTERN
Ch 4, join with a slst to form a ring
ROW 1
- ch 4 (counts as dc, ch 1 here and throughout)
- dc 3 into ring
- ch 3
- dc 3 into ring
- ch 1
- dc into ring
ROW 2
*All stitches in this Row and all following Rows will be worked into the ch spaces
- ch 4 (counts as dc, ch 1), turn
- dc 3, ch 1 in the first ch space
- (dc 3, ch 3, dc 3, ch 1) in the ch 3 space
- (dc 3, ch 1, dc) in last ch 1 space
ROW 3
- ch 4 (counts as dc, ch 1), turn
- (dc 3, ch 1) in the first ch space and each ch space until you reach the ch 3 space in the centre
- (dc 3, ch 3, dc 3, ch 1) in the ch 3 space
- (dc 3, ch 1) in the next ch space and each ch space until you reach the last ch 1 space in the centre
- (dc 3, ch 1, dc) in last ch 1 space
Repeat Row 3 until your shawl reaches your desired size.
FINISHING
Fasten off, weave in ends and enjoy!
