Materials

  • 300 Yards Worsted Weight Yarn
  • 6.5 mm Tunisan Hook

Abbreviations

  • slst – Slip Stitch
  • ch – Chain
  • sc – Single Crochet
  • scblo – Single Crochet in Back Loop Only
  • tss – Tunisian Simple Stitch
  • tks – Tunisian Knit Stitch

Dimensions

Approx. 8 inches wide The size of this runner can easily be adjusted, chain any even number of stitches to achieve the width you like and then continue with the repeated Rows to adjust the length

Pattern

Ch 30

ROW 1

  • pick up 1 loop through the second ch from the hook and each ch to end.
  • Work standard return pass.

ROW 2

  • *tss, tks*
  • Repeat from * to * until 1 stitch remains
  • 1 edge stitch in last stitch, work standard return pass

ROW 3

  • *tks, tss*
  • Repeat from * to * until 1 stitch remains
  • 1 edge stitch in last stitch, work standard return pass

ROW 4 – ?

Repeat Rows 2 and 3 until your runner reaches your desired length, ending on a repeat of Row 3.

BIND OFF

Bind off as if you’d be repeating row 2, alternating your hook placement between a tss and tks, do not fasten off, ch 1.

BORDER

ROW 1

Turn your runner clockwise and sc evenly down the side, place 2 sc in the corner stitch. Continue to sc around the remaining 3 sides, placing 2 sc in each corner, slst to beginning sc.

ROW 2

ch 1, scblo in each stitch, place 2 sc in the corner stitch. Continue to scblo around the remaining 3 sides, placing 2 sc in each corner, slst to beginning sc. Fasten off and weave in ends!
