- Beginning chain DOES NOT count as a stitch
- When creating the chain stitches throughout the pattern make sure not to pull them too tightly, tight chain stitches may make the headband less stretchy

SPECIAL STITCHES
MINI BEAN STITCH
Insert hook into stitch, yarn over, pull through (2 loops on hook), yarn over, insert hook into the same stitch, yarn over, pull through (4 loops on hook), yarn over, pull through all 4 loops
*Please note: the tutorial I have linked above includes the ch 1 in the mbs, I have separated them in this pattern to show that they are two stitches, you will only ch once between the mbs.
TODDLER SIZE
DIMENSIONS
- Fits average sized toddler’s head
- Finished Headband should measure approximately 2.5 inches tall and 7 inches wide
PATTERN
Using 5.5 mm Hook Ch 58 loosely, slst to beginning ch to form a ring being careful not to twist your ch
*If you normally crochet tightly use a larger hook for the beginning chain
ROW 1
- Ch 1
- hdc in each stitch around
- Slst into top of first hdc (58 sts)
ROW 2
- Ch 1
- *Fphdc, bphdc*
- Repeat from * to * around
- Slip stitch into top of first fphdc (58 sts)
Switch to 6.0 mm Hook
ROW 3
- ch 1
- *mbs in next stitch, ch 1, skip next stitch*
- Repeat from * to * around
- Slip stitch into top of first mbs (58 sts)
ROW 4 – 8
- Slip stitch into first ch space, ch 1
- *mbs in ch 1 space, ch 1, skip next stitch*
- Repeat from * to * around
- Slip stitch into top of first mbs (58 sts)
Switch to 5.5 mm Hook
ROW 9
- Ch 1
- hdc in each stitch around
- Slst into top of first hdc (58 sts)
ROW 10
- Ch 1
- *Fphdc, bphdc*
- Repeat from * to * around
- Slip stitch into top of first fphdc (58 sts)
FINISHING
Fasten off and weave in ends.
