Materials
- 1 Caron Cake or 380 yards of Worsted weight yarn of your choice
- 6 mm Crochet Hook
Notes
- I used Caron Cakes from Yarnspirations to design this pattern, one cake was enough to make a good sized scarf but any worsted weight yarn would work nicely.
- Beginning chain does not count as a stitch
Abbreviations (US Terms)
- ch – Chain
- sc – Single Crochet
- mbs – Mini Bean stitch
Special Stitches
MINI BEAN STITCH
Insert hook into stitch, yarn over, pull through (2 loops on hook), yarn over, insert hook into same stitch, yarn over, pull through (4 loops on hook), yarn over, pull through all 4 loops, chain 1 to close stitch.
*Please note that this ch 1 does count as a stitch in the final stitch counts of each round; so each MBS you complete will count for 2 stitches.
Sizing
This pattern can easily be adjusted to change the length or width of the scarf.
- To adjust the length, change your starting ch to any multiple of 2
- To adjust the width, remove or add repeats of row 3
Pattern
Ch 180, slip stitch into beginning ch to form a ring being careful not to twist your chain.
ROW 1
- ch 1
- Sc in each stitch around
- End by slip stitching into the top of the first sc
ROW 2
- ch 1
- *mbs in next stitch, skip next stitch*
- Repeat from * to * around
- Slip stitch into top of first mbs
ROW 3 – 19
- Slip stitch into first ch space, ch 1
- *mbs in ch 1 space, skip next stitch*
- Repeat from * to * around
- Slip stitch into top of first mbs
ROW 20
- ch 1
- Sc in first stitch and each stitch around
Fasten off, weave in ends.
