Materials
- Approx. 200 yards of Bernat Maker Home dec or the yarn of your choice
- 6 mm Crochet Hook or a hook appropriate for your yarn choice
- Yarn Needle
- Scissors
Notes
- Beginning chain does not count as a stitch
- This pattern is worked from the bottom up in joined rounds.
- You can use any yarn/hook you like, using a worsted weight yarn will yield a smaller bag.
Abbreviations (US Terms)

Special Stitches
MINI BEAN STITCH
Insert hook into stitch, yarn over, pull through (2 loops on hook), yarn over, insert hook into the same stitch, yarn over, pull through (4 loops on hook), yarn over, pull through all 4 loops
*Please note: the tutorial I have linked above includes the ch 1 in the mbs, I have separated them in this pattern to show that they are two stitches, you will only ch once between the mbs.
Dimensions
I used Bernat Maker Home Dec and a 6mm hook to make the bag pictured, my bag measured approx. 10 inches tall and 9.5 inches wide.
Pattern
Begin with a mr, ch 2 (does not count as a stitch)
ROW 1
- dc 10 into mr
- slst to first dc (10 stitches)
ROW 2
- ch 2
- 2 dc in each stitch around
- slst to beginning dc (20 stitches)
ROW 3
- ch 2
- *dc in next stitch, 2 dc in next stitch*
- Repeat from * to * around
- slst to beginning dc (30 stitches)
ROW 4
- ch 2
- *dc in the next 2 stitches, 2 dc in the next stitch*
- Repeat from * to * around
- slst to beginning dc (40 stitches)
ROW 5
- ch 2
- *dc in the next 3 stitches, 2 dc in the next stitch*
- Repeat from * to * around
- slst to beginning dc (50 stitches)
ROW 6
- ch 2
- *dc in the next 4 stitches, 2 dc in the next stitch*
- Repeat from * to * around
- slst to beginning dc (60 stitches)

- Ch 1
- Sc in the next 10 stitches, ch 30
- Skip the next 15 stitches
- Sc in the next 20 stitches, ch 30

- Slst into top of first sc (130 sts)
ROW 26 – 27
- Ch 1
- Sc in each stitch around
- Slip stitch into top of first sc (130 sts)

- Slst in each stitch around

- Slst down two rows
- Slst across the row
- Slst along the bottom of the handle
- Continue to slst along the row around the bag, on the bottom of the second handle and around to where you began the row.
Fasten off and weave in ends!
