SKILL LEVEL: ADVANCED BEGINNER
The Barista Beanie Pattern includes instructions for a Messy Bun beanie along with a full beanie in Adult, Child and Toddler sizes. All sizes are provided below.

Materials
- Approx. 150 yards of Worsted Weight Yarn
- 5.5 mm and 6.0 mm Crochet Hooks
Notes
- Beginning chain does not count as a stitch
- This pattern is worked from the brim up, with the body being worked in the round.
- When creating the chain stitches throughout the pattern make sure not to pull them too tightly, tight chain stitches may make the beanie less stretchy

Special Stitches
MINI BEAN STITCH
Insert hook into stitch, yarn over, pull through (2 loops on hook), yarn over, insert hook into the same stitch, yarn over, pull through (4 loops on hook), yarn over, pull through all 4 loops
ADULT SIZE
Dimensions
- Fits average sized teen or woman’s head (21 -23 inch circumference)
- Finished Messy Bun Beanie should measure approximately 7.5 inches tall and 8.5 inches wide
- Finished Beanie should measure approximately 8 inches tall and 8.5 inches wide
BRIM
Using 5.5 mm Hook Ch 10
ROW 1
- Sc in the second ch from the hook
- Sc in each stitch across (9)
- Ch 1, turn
ROW 2 – 64
- Scblo in each stitch across
- Ch 1 (does not count as a stitch), turn
*Brim should measure approximately 18 inches long unstretched
Fold your brim in half slst both ends together, turn right side out, ch 1 and continue to body working along the edge of brim.
BODY
Switch to 6.0 mm Hook
ROW 1
- sc in the top of each row of the brim, slst to beginning sc (64 sts)
ROW 2
- ch 1
- *mbs in next stitch, ch 1, skip next stitch*
- Repeat from * to * around
- Slip stitch into top of first mbs (64 sts)
ROW 3 – 15 (16 For Beanie)
- Slip stitch into first ch space, ch 1
- *mbs in ch 1 space, ch 1, skip next stitch*
- Repeat from * to * around
- Slip stitch into top of first mbs (64 sts)
ROW 16 (17)
- Slip stitch into first ch space, ch 1
- *mbs in ch 1 space, skip next stitch*
- Repeat from * to * around
- Slip stitch into top of first mbs (32 sts)
ROW 17 (18)
- Ch 1, Sc in each stitch around
- slst to beginning sc (32 sts)
ROW 18 (19)
- Ch 1, *Sc 2, sc2tog*
- Repeat from * to * around
- Slst to beginning sc (24 sts)

- Ch 1, Sc in each stitch around
- slst to beginning sc (24 sts)
MESSY BUN BEANIE: Fasten off, weave in ends
BEANIE: Fasten off leaving a long tail, use the tail to thread through stitches to close up the opening and weave in ends.
CHILD SIZE
Dimensions
- Fits average sized child’s head
- Finished Beanie should measure approximately 6.5 inches tall and 7.5 inches wide
BRIM
Using 5.5 mm Hook Ch 9
ROW 1
- Sc in the second ch from the hook
- Sc in each stitch across (8)

ROW 2 – 60
- Scblo in each stitch across
- Ch 1 (does not count as a stitch), turn
