Materials

• 180 Yards of Bernat Handicrafter or any Weight 4 Cotton Yarn
• 5.5 mm Crochet Hook

Notes

• Beginning chain may or may not count as a stitch (noted in pattern)
• This pattern is worked from the bottom up in joined rounds

Abbreviations

• mr – Magic Ring
• slst – Slipstitch
• ch – chain
• sc – Single Crochet
• dc – Double Crochet

Dimensions

My bag measures approximately 10 inches tall by 9 inches wide

Pattern

Begin with a mr, ch 2 (does not count as a stitch)

ROW 1

• dc 10 into mr
• slst to first dc (10 stitches)

ROW 2

• ch 2 (does not count as a stitch)
• 2 dc in each stitch around
• slst to beginning dc (20 stitches)

ROW 3

• ch 2 (does not count as a stitch)
• *dc in next stitch, 2 dc in next stitch*
• Repeat from * to * around
• slst to beginning dc (30 stitches)

ROW 4

• ch 2 (does not count as a stitch)
• *dc in the next 2 stitches, 2 dc in the next stitch*
• Repeat from * to * around
• slst to beginning dc (40 stitches)

ROW 5

• ch 2 (does not count as a stitch)
• *dc in the next 3 stitches, 2 dc in the next stitch*
• Repeat from * to * around
• slst to beginning dc (50 stitches)

ROW 6

• ch 2 (does not count as a stitch)
• *dc in the next 4 stitches, 2 dc in the next stitch*
• Repeat from * to * around
• slst to beginning dc (60 stitches)

ROW 7

• ch 2 (does not count as a stitch)
• *dc in the next 5 stitches, 2 dc in the next stitch*
• Repeat from * to * around
• slst to beginning dc (70 stitches)

ROW 8

• ch 3 (counts as beginning dc + ch 1)
• *Skip next stitch, dc in next stitch, ch 1*
• Repeat from * to * around
• slst to beginning dc (2nd ch in beginning ch 3)

ROW 9 – 18

• slst into the next ch space
• ch 3 (counts as beginning dc + ch 1)
• *Skip next stitch, dc in next ch space, ch 1*
• Repeat from * to * around
• slst to beginning dc (2nd ch in beginning ch 3)

ROW 19 – 20

• ch 1 (does not count as a stitch), sc in the same stitch and in each stitch (including ch spaces) around
• slst to beginning sc (70 stitches)

ROW 21

• ch 1 (does not count as a stitch), sc in the same stitch and in the next 9 stitches
• ch 35, skip the next 15 stitches
• sc in the next 20 stitches
• ch 35, skip the next 15 stitches
• sc in the next 10 stitches
• slst to beginning sc (40 sc, 70 ch)

ROW 22

• ch 1 (does not count as a stitch), sc in the same stitch and in each stitch around including each ch
• slst to first sc (110 stitches)

ROW 23

slst in each stitch around, this will give the handles some reinforcement (110 stitches)
